BLACK AIR: THE BUICK GRAND NATIONAL DOCUMENTARY

I spent four years making this self-funded, feature-length documentary about the Buick Grand National. I'm not a car guy (and never have been one), but I came to this subject because I wanted to make a film about ambition and social class. The clip above is the film's first five minutes.

I worked alone, researching, making relationships, traveling the country, shooting and editing, all by myself. I handled the distribution, too, offering product direct-to-consumer.

The automotive press has been generous with its attention. Their support has been the film's only marketing campaign. DVDs, posters, and t-shirts are available on the film's official website, while digital downloads can be found on iTunes and Amazon Instant Video.

The Turbo Buick community has embraced the film, too. More than 8,000 people follow the film's Facebook page and people send me photos of their DVDs and posters.
