Just Wrapped: Comix - Grand Opening Weekend

Telling Story recently completed filming the 4-day grand opening celebration of Comix, Manhattan's newest live performance, multi-use comedy venue. Featured performers included: David Spade, Kathy Griffin, Cedric the Entertainer, Sara Silverman, Mo'Nique, Alex Borstein, Josh Blue, Flight of the Conchords, Bill Engvall, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, and Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts Band.

Our cameras covered the performances and all of the pre- and post-show activity, and we'll now create a number of programs for the club: a short-form documentary on the weekend's festivities; two direct-response television spots; and a sound and image collage for use on the club's in-house television monitors.

Comix is located in Manhattan's Meatpacking District.

New Commission: "The Spirit Walk at Maple Grove Cemetery"

In October 2006 we will begin production on a new DVD for Maple Grove Cemetery. This 30-minute program will allow viewers to experience Maple Grove's meditative Spirit Walk, a self-paced journey that brings visitors through the cemetery's monumental and memorial sections.

Our program will be built on expressive, fluid videography of each of the ten points on the Spirit Walk: the Story Stones along South Border; the Angel Mary statue; the 9/11 Remembrance Memorial; the Lake; the Hebe statue; the Kheimon statue; the Guardian Gargoyle for Peace sculpture; the Blessing Well; the Psalm 23 installation; and the Labyrinth. Also, Robin Reeves, a Trustee of Maple Grove Cemetery, will provide an audio commentary track that will explain the meaning, history, and significance of each of the points.

Organized in 1875, Maple Grove Cemetery is an historic, 65-acre rural cemetery in the Kew Gardens section of Queens. "The Spirit Walk at Maple Grove Cemetery" is the third collaboration between Telling Story and Maple Grove Cemetery.
